Ryan Chevrolet uses Big Picture™ for Dealerships

Ryan Chevrolet, a full service Chevrolet vehicle dealership, has signed with Premiere Pages to redevelop and extend the company website. Premiere Pages will implement parent company Albertson Consulting's recently released digital information management suite Big Picture™ to manage the site.

Marketing Director Jaimie Jundt is excited about the project. "Although we like how our vehicle inventory is presented on the Web, it takes too much time to update each day. Ryan Chevrolet sells a lot of cars, and the internal inventory database is updated constantly. We want our online inventory to be as accurate as possible for our customers. But it currently takes a staff person three hours each day to ensure the public inventory database has the same inventory that we are reporting internally. We want to change that."

The project will largely be comprised of two things: consulting to integrate the online public database with Ryan Chevrolet's internal dealership software, and licensing and configuring Dealership Website Management software. The latter will provide several upgrades and additions to the Ryan Chevrolet website Security will be enhanced on the administrative access to the website by Ryan Chevrolet staff: different users will be given access to different functions of the administrative tools. One tool will automatically export certain inventory as advertising copy for the newspapers. Photos of customers and their new vehicles will be displayed on the initial page of the site.

Another time-saving feature will be an improvement in how images are uploaded to the website, as Premiere Pages' sales consultant David Hoffman explains: "Currently, Ryan Chevrolet staff need to manually resize vehicle photos and create thumbnails for the website. Instead of doing this by hand, Ryan Chevrolet will soon be able to skip several steps and directly upload new photos to the site. Resizing and thumbnailing will occur in realtime automatically."

Although the Big Picture™ toolset as a package is a new offering, the tools themselves are a mature version of software that has been under development for many years. "Big Picture™ is a new framework that ties together software tools coming from two companies, Premiere Pages a six-year-old web development firm that's now a division of Albertson Consulting, and Albertson Consulting's own legacy of enterprise-level software and database development. With that kind of experience in developing products to solve our clients' problems, what we have now is very powerful and very easy to use," says Hoffman.

Ease-of-use and customer feedback are very important to Michael Blessum, Big Picture™ Product Manager. "No matter how many bells and whistles you put on a product, if it's not easy and intuitive to the user, it's a failure. We're in the business of empowering our customers and helping them to save time... not hold them back."
