Communications Corps chooses Big Picture™ for Lewis & Clark Site

The Communications Corps, a Minot-based video production and marketing solutions firm, has chosen Albertson Consulting as its website development partner for its Lewis & Clark docu-series entitled, "Rediscover the Corps." Albertson Consulting will use the recently released digital information management suite Big Picture™ to manage the site.

Communications Corps Producer/Director Kirk Roos is excited about the project. "This is about partnering with the people and organizations who can collaborate to build a valuable education experience over the next three years. Lewis & Clark are a vital part of North Dakota history, and we just want to tell the story."

Each week for the next three years, Mr. Roos and partner Chad Spokely will be writing, directing, shooting, and editing video in collaboration with famous historian Clay Jenkins. On location at hundreds of points along the Lewis & Clark Trail, they'll be developing hundreds of hours of talks, video footage, and historical data.

While the two partners have the most experience in the video medium, they intend to create a cross-media experience to tailor the information for a number of audiences. "I'm interested in the educational opportunities for school-age children. Our initial focus is to edit the video into weekly 90 second "vignettes," which will be broadcast on a number of television stations and made available via the project website. The short format of these episodes make them highly digestible to a younger audience. Partnering with educators will be critical in making these resources available to students interested in the Lewis & Clark saga."

The Rediscover the Corps website, located at www.rediscoverthecorps.com, is slated to go "live" in early May. Until then, placeholder content is available. The website is a multi-faceted delivery vehicle for content tailored for a number of audiences. The public will be able to view some content, but the "really good stuff," as Mr. Roos calls it, will only be available to subscribers and partners.

Future plans call for DVDs, apparel merchandise, and other formats of the edited material to be available for purchase via the e-commerce areas of the website. Michael Blessum, Business Analyst for Premiere Pages and parent company Albertson Consulting, Inc., elaborates, "This website will be so much more than just an brochure. It's a framework for extending The Communication Corps' business model into audiences all over the world. Because the level of content will be specifically tailored for a number of audiences, people can get exactly what they want to learn more about. Big Picture™'s powerful, easy-to-use, content management tools make this process easy for The Communication Corps. It's all about empowering them to concentrate on their business and what they're best at."
